Why Should We Go Green?

Why Should We Go Green

If you are open and willing,
life can take these dramatic turns
that can excite you in ways that
you could have never imagined.

Why should we go green? Well, as you probably already know, there are a lot of reasons. And, there is a good chance that you have already opened your mind to the idea of doing what you can to keep the earth and yourself healthy. However, since we feel your efforts should be promoted and encouraged, today we shall recap some excellent reasons to go green.

Make your mama proud.

When you take steps to help the earth, you notice right off that you stand a little taller and look five pounds thinner. It just happens. And, not only will you make your mama proud, but others will be proud of you also, including  your father, husband/wife, children, extended family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, community and the world at large.

Be part of something important.

You will become part of a big green family that has a very important mission. There are many green citizens on the planet and the number is growing. You will become part of a large network of people that care about things that matter in life, such as the condition of our food, water, air, soil, people, plants and animals.

Good green habits make your life better.

We know that sounds like a very broad statement, so please allow us to give you a long-winded example of the snowball effects of going green. Eating green means you are chowing down on whole foods that are in season, locally grown, and organic. You’ll notice right away that these foods not only taste better, but they are also good for your health and they make you feel and look better, which improves your mood, outlook, and energy, which means you’ll accomplish more in less time, which means you will have more free time, which means you can pursue fun activities, which means means you’ll make more friends….and so on.  It becomes easy to connect the happy green dots. Fantasy? Not.

Exercise the power of choice.

When you go green, you are flexing your choice muscles. For starters, you choose how you vote, what you buy, where you shop, what you wear, and what you eat. That’s a lot of green power per person, especially when you know that even one small action can make a big difference. Your choices change the world.

One green thing leads to another.

Once you get rolling, going green is easy. And, once you find out how easy it is to master your first habit (such as turning off the water when you brush your teeth), it’s time to think about mastering another green habit.  It doesn’t take long to begin thinking: What Can I Do Next?  It’s a beautiful thing.

You will save money.

Oh, yes, you will! The going-green mantra is a money-saving whopper: Reduce-Reuse-Recycle.  Whether you decide to buy less stuff or turn down your thermostat, you will save money.  And, who doesn’t want to save money?
